Memory Match
Flip two cards at a time and find every matching pair in as few moves as you can.
Tap a card to flip it. Two matching cards stay open.
How to play
All the cards start face down. Flip any two. If the pictures match, they stay open. If not, they turn back over after a moment, so try to remember where each picture was. The game ends when every pair is found.
Tips for a better memory
- Go in order. In the first few turns, flip cards row by row so you see as many pictures as possible.
- Say it out loud. Naming a picture and its place (“the bee is top left”) helps it stick.
- Group by area. Remember pictures by corners and edges rather than exact squares.
- Don't rush the second card. When your first card shows a picture you have already seen, take a second to recall where its partner is.
Why memory games are fun
Matching games are among the oldest card games in the world and are often one of the first games children learn. They need no reading and no counting, just attention. Adults enjoy them as a short, focused break, and the bigger board makes a real challenge.
Scoring yourself
A perfect game on the 4 × 4 board takes 8 moves, but only with luck. Finishing in under 14 moves is very good; under 20 is a solid result. Try to beat your own record.
